190 DOST officials, employees vaccinated vs COVID-19
A total of 190 officials and employees of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) have so far been vaccinated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This was announced by DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña in his Facebook post on Tuesday, June 15, as he thanked the Taguig City government for facilitating the vaccination of their personnel at the DOST main office in Bicutan, Taguig City.
“At DOST Central Office alone, 190 officials and employees have already taken the opportunity to get vaccinated on June 1, 2, 12, and 14 at the Lakeshore Mega Vaccination Hub in Taguig City,” he said.

He cited the efforts of DOST Assistant Secretary for Administrative and Legal Affairs (ALA) Dr. Teodoro M. Gatchalian and his staff, Hiyasmine D. Navarro for coordinating and arranging the COVID-19 inoculation drive.
The DOST chief even took opportunity to drum up support for the government’s vaccination program.
“Mahalaga pong magpa-bakuna tayong lahat (It is important that we all get vaccinated),” he said.
During a public briefing on April 12, de la Peña, 71, announced that he received the AstraZeneca jab.
De la Peña shared that before the vaccination, he got nervous and as a result, his blood pressure slightly went up.
He got his COVID-19 vaccine at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on April 8.
