Report: Korean actor Park Seo-joon to join 'The Marvels'

Korean actor Park Seo-joon will join the movie “The Marvels,” which is slated for release in November next year.

A report by Korean media outlet Star News stated that the 32-year-old star of the hit K-drama “Itaewon Class,” was offered a role in “The Marvels.”

He is scheduled to leave for the US in the second half of the year after filming the movie “Concrete Utopia,” which also stars Lee Byung-hyun and Park Bo-young.

“The Marvels” is a sequel to “Captain Marvel” and will star Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) and Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan) with Nia DaCosta as director. It will be released in theaters on Nov. 11, 2022.

When asked about the report on Park Seo-joon, his agency, Awesome ENT, told Korean media, “No comment.”

If this pushes through, Park Seo-joon will follow Korean actor Ma Dong-seok in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ma Dong-seok will play the role of Gilgamesh in the “Eternals” film, which is slated to be released on Nov. 5.

“Captain Marvel” earned $1.12 billion worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

Park Seo-joon's other drama credits include "Record of Youth," "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" and "She Was Pretty." He appeared in a cameo role in the Oscar-winning film "Parasite."
