Over 57,000 violators of minimum health standards apprehended--Año

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año reported Monday night, June 14 that 2,417 individuals have been charged for violating minimum health standards for the period of June 7 to 13.

In a briefing with President Duterte, Año said that authorities apprehended a total of 51,607 individuals for not wearing or improperly wearing face masks, while 5,576 others were nabbed for violating the physical distancing rule.
Duterte earlier instructed authorities to arrest violators of minimum health standards following the spike in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in Metro Manila last March.
He also noted that at least 32,804,033 individuals from categories A1 to C have registered for the COVID-19 vaccination programs of local government units (LGUs) in the country.
The DILG chief added that 25,287 LGU vaccination action plans have been submitted while 36,006 barangay health emergency response teams were formed by the various localities.
A total of 27,895 quarantine facilities are available for COVID-19 patients nationwide. (Chito A. Chavez)
