Advincula receives 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Archbishop-elect of Manila Cardinal Jose Advincula is now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

CBCP News said the outgoing Capiz archbishop received the second dose of the vaccine last month.

In a social media post, the Manila archdiocese said the 69-year old cardinal also encouraged the public to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Advincula is set to be installed as the 33rd archbishop of Manila on June 24.

Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos also received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine last month.

The prelate posted his picture on Facebook after getting the jab.

"I got my second COVID-19 vaccine dose. I am grateful to be part of the solution," said Santos.

The prelate urged the public to do the same.

"Support and spread vaccine awareness. Get vaccinated. It is safe. It is our service," Santos said.

He did not mention the name of the vaccine but he received the first dose of the Sinovac on April 12.
