PH now administers over 200K COVID-19 vaccine doses daily, says Dizon

National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Vince Dizon said on Monday, June 14, the country is now capable of vaccinating over 200,000 Filipinos daily.

In a Palace briefing, Dizon also expressed confidence that more Filipinos will get inoculated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the weeks ahead given the recent arrival of Pfizer and Sputnik V doses.

Dizon said that the most important thing in the vaccination program is supply, with the whole world struggling with it. He noted though that once available, the vaccines are rolled out swiftly.

One million vaccine doses have been administered from June 7 to 13, he said.

Sinovac doses, numbering a million and procured by the government, and over 2.2 million Pfizer shots from the COVAX Facility have been shipped to the country on June 10, the Philippines' biggest single-day COVID-19 vaccine delivery.

On June 12, 100,000 doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country.

"We are very hopeful that it will get the supply that we are programmed to get in the next couple of months, bibilis nang bibilis po yan at maaabot po natin ang ating target for 2021," Dizon said.

He added that the government is eyeing to vaccinate 500,000 Filipinos daily to achieve herd immunity.

As of June 14, the number of fully vaccinated individuals in the Philippines has stood at 1.8 million.
