More than P1B worth of shabu seized in Parañaque, Cavite buy-bust

Anti-narcotics personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than P1 billion worth of shabu in two separate buy-bust operations in Parañaque City and Cavite on Sunday, June 13, the biggest illegal drugs haul this year in one day.

PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said the first operation was carried out in Baclaran at around 3:30 p.m. based on confirmed reports about the involvement of a Chinese in selling large quantities of shabu.

He said Zhizun Chen was collared after a poseur buyer was able to buy a kilo of shabu from him. Thirty-seven more kilos of shabu were seized from him.

Carreon said the confiscated shabu has a street value of P257 million.

Thirty minutes later, another teams from PNP and the PDEA confiscated some P795 million worth of shabu after the arrest of Jose Baluyot in a buy-bust.

Baluyot, who carries the alias Man Kuok Wong, was collared along a highway in Imus, Cavite.

Carreon said the shabu seized from both suspects have similar packaging.
