BTS, EXO, NCT, Highlight, Seventeen top K-pop boy band brand rankings in June

K-pop superstars BTS maintained their top ranking while EXO surged to second place followed by NCT, Highlight and Seventeen in the latest brand reputation rankings for K-pop boy bands for the month of June.

The Korea Corporate Research Institute released on June 12 the rankings based on an analysis of 59.59 million pieces of big data from May 12 to June 12, an increase of 16.31 percent from 51.24 million in May.

The rankings were based on consumer participation, media coverage, communication and community indices.

According to the institute, the brand reputation index indicates that consumers’ online habits have a great influence on brand consumption. The boy band brand reputation analysis can measure positive and negative evaluations of boy bands, media interest, consumer interest and traffic.

BTS ranked first again with a score of 15.18 million, an increase of 11.43 percent compared to 13.63 million they got in May. In the analysis of the positive/negative ratio, BTS’ positive ratio was analyzed as 82.08 percent.

EXO surged to second place in June from sixth place in May, scoring 5.26 million, an increase of 149.64 percent from 2.1 million last month.

NCT slid from second to third place but their score totaled 5.1 million, up by 46.65 percent compared to 3.48 million in May.

Highlight maintained their fourth place ranking with a score of 4.45 million, an increase of 53.62 percent from 2.9 million.

Seventeen placed fifth from third last month with a score of 3.59 million, up by 11.69 percent from 3.21 million in May.
