Let's go! PITX starts to reopen routes to Bicol region

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) has opened up new routes to the Bicol region even as several local government units (LGUs) have begun to ease restrictions for travelers who are deemed safe from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection.

"PITX is committed to helping the economy recover by opening new routes in close coordination with our partners from the local government. And of course, we will do this with safety as our number one priority," PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Head Jason Salvador said.

The towns of Tabaco, Tiwi, and Legazpi City in Albay announced the reopening of their borders to travelers last May subject to the new set of travel guidelines implemented by the local government.

Meanwhile, PITX said it is currently in talks with Naga LGU for the opening of routes in their area later this month.

According to Salvador, all travelers going to Bicol from PITX should present identification cards before boarding, while advance booking of at least 48 hours will also be required.

Minor passengers or those aged 17 years old and below must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, Salvador added.

A negative antigen test result released strictly from the terminal's testing facility on the travel date is also needed to be allowed to travel.

The landport's antigen testing facility, located on the third-floor parking area, was set up in partnership with One Health Medical Services, Inc. (OHM). Testing is open to all passengers for P850.

Salvador said passengers bound to Bicol may reserve their trips directly through the bus operators' contact details, which can be reached here.
