Execration falls short against Indonsian king EVOS Legends, drops to MSC lower bracket

Execration fell short of pulling off another comeback in the decisive Game 3 as Indonesian champion EVOS Legends ran away with the 2-1 victory in their upper bracket clash in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 on Friday night, June 11.

Execration will now look to spark another Cinderella run in the lower bracket just like what Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog and the crew did to reach the grand finals of the MPL Philippines Season 7

The Filipino runner-up will battle Impunity KH of Cambodia for tournament life at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

EVOS, meanwhile, arranged a highly-anticipated best-of-five series against MPL-PH titlist Blacklist International at 5 p.m.

Former MSC winner Maxhill "Antimage" Leonardo on Alice singlehandedly carried EVOS to a 17-12 equalizer in Game 2 as he took on four Execration heroes along with the Lord.

Hafizhan "Clover" Mirzaputra's Harith and Perdyansyah "Ferxiic" Kamaruddin's Aldous then stepped up in the decider to lead the M1 world champions' hard-fought 20-16 win in 21 minutes.

Super rookie "Duane" Kelra Pillas' Claude tried to ignite a fightback for the Filipinos but eventually came up short as EVOS secured the Luminous Lord in the 20th minute before going on a Base lock.

Kelra's Lunox earlier fueled Execration's thrilling 16-11 comeback triumph in Game 1, hitting crucial kills that ignited a massive turnaround in just a span of three minutes.

EVOS dominated the series opener for over nine minutes but Kelra punished them for overstaying at the top lane, shutting down Ferxiic's Brody and Joshua "LJ" Darmansyah's aggressive tank Paquito.

That set the tone for Execration's furious fightback as the Filipinos wiped out the Indonesians with Kelra hitting a triple kill and Kiel VJ "Kielvj" Hernandez's Claude getting a double to seal the 16-11 win in 12 minutes.

Kelra racked up nine kills in the last three minutes while also tallying five assists after uncorking over 57K damage.
