Blacklist International easily sweeps Malaysian champ RSG MY, zooms to MSC upper bracket finals

Reigning Philippine champion Blacklist International made quick work of Malaysian titlist RSG MY, 2-0, to cruise to the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 on Friday, June 11.

Captain-support Jonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's signature "Mathilda Airlines" in Game 1 set the tone for the easy sweep that pushed Blacklist closer to the crown of the regional tournament that stakes a prize pool of $150,000 (over P7 million).

The MPL Philippines Season 7 winners coasted to the best-of-five upper bracket finals on Saturday wherein they will take on the victor between fellow PH representative Execration and MPL Indonesia king EVOS Legends, which are squaring off at posting time.

OhMyV33nus' Mathilda took off in the series opener and carried Blacklist's hyper-aggression in the early game en route to a lopsided 22-5 victory in 15 minutes.

With so much space provided by OhMyV33nus, Wise's Aldous freely farmed his Soul Steal stacks and defensive items before wreaking havoc on the Malaysians down the closing stretch.

OhMyV33nus finished with seven kills and nine assists against two deaths while Wise put up a 5-1-9 kill-death-assist tally.

RSG MY started strong in Game 2 with Zacus' Khufra forcing favorable trades, but Edward's Benedetta showed up in a crucial team fight in the fifth minute at the mid lane where he picked off Lexia's Lancelot.

From there, Blacklist gained control of the lanes and objectives, enabling Wise's Granger and Kiel "OHEB" Soriano's Harith to get their items and unload the damage in the succeeding clashes.

A pickoff on Kaizer's Paquito at the top allowed the Filipino side to take the Luminous Lord and eventually wrap up the sweep.

With the loss, RSG MY dropped to the lower bracket where it will face Indonesian runner-up Bigetron Alpha on Saturday.
