Quezon City to start vaccinating A4 group on June 11

The local government of Quezon City will start inoculating the A4 priority group or the economic frontliners against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday, June 11.

This was announced by Mayor Joy Belmonte in an interview with CNN on Thursday.

“We will be having about 43,800 (doses) which will be rolled out starting tomorrow, we are opening our online booking sites today so people can book online today,” she said.

According to Belmonte, the city received a limited number of vaccines from the Department of Health (DOH).

“We received 53,800 doses of Sinovac yesterday (June 9) afternoon and 10,000 of that will go towards replenishing our second dose,” she said.

“Last time there was such a great demand and they ran out of first dose vaccines so I asked permission sa DOH if it's possible to use some second doses for first doses and they gave me permission, and now 10,000 of the new arrivals will have to replenish that old supplies,” she added.

The city government is planning to activate eight vaccination sites for the A4 category due to limited vaccine supply.

“We will limit the number of sites to be operated doon sa consistent with what we can supply in terms of the vaccines,” Belmonte said.

Individuals under the A4 category are encouraged to book their appointments on the city's online booking site.
