Pro-federalism group to support Duterte's anointed one in 2022
A group of President Duterte's supporters has promised to continue to rally behind him as well as his presidential contender in the 2022 national elections.

After the President appeared reluctant to run for vice president and has yet to see anyone deserving to succeed him, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chair Greco Belgica said he and the rest of the pro-federalism group would respect Duterte's decision and will continue to support him.
Belgica belongs to the political group called Pederalismo ng DuGOng Dakilang Samahan (PDDS).

"Ano man ang kalabasan ng magiging desisyon ng ating mahal na Pangulo Rodrigo Roa Duterte ay buong puso namin itong susuportahan sampu ng aming mga kasamahan sa Pederalismo ng DuGOng Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) (Whatever the outcome of the decision of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, we and the rest of our colleagues in the Pederalismo ng DuGOng Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) will wholeheartedly support it)," Belgica said in a Facebook post Thursday, June 10.
"Ang aming kumpiyansa sa mahal na Pangulo ay hindi matatawaran kaya't sino man ang kanyang pilin na posibleng magtutuloy ng kanyang magandang nasimulan sa kanyang administrasyon ay walang pasubali naming ibibigay ang aming suporta gaya ng aming ginagawa kay PRRD (Our confidence in our dear President is indisputable so we will support whoever he chooses to continue his administration's good work, the same way we support PRRD)," he said.

President Duterte recently declared that he was not keen on seeking the vice presidency in next year's polls as proposed by some supporters, saying he was ready to go back to Davao City and retire. Duterte is set to step down from office when his six-year term ends in June 2022.
The ruling PDP-Laban party recently passed a resolution urging the President to run for vice president and choose the party's standard-bearer in next year's elections. Duterte however said he was resisting such call amid concerns he might be accused of perpetuating himself in power. "I'm ready for retirement," Duterte said in a recent television interview.
Duterte, in the same interview, said there was still no one deserving to be his successor next year, but offered to bare his choices at the proper time. He has already discouraged his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio from running for president to avoid the hardship that includes constant criticisms from rivals.
Before winning the presidency in 2016, the former Davao City mayor was also reluctant to run for the country's highest government post. In November 2015, Duterte changed his mind, withdrew his mayoral bid in Davao City and filed his candidacy for president. He replaced Martin Diño, who pulled out his presidential candidacy under the PDP-Laban party.
