Manila runs out of vaccine supply, halts first dose mass vaccination

Manila temporarily halted its first dose mass vaccination as the city ran out of vaccine supply.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said there will be no first-dose mass vaccination starting June 10.

“Wala na po tayong bakuna. Magaantabay po ulit tayo ng resupply (We don’t have vaccines anymore. We will again wait for the resupply),” the mayor said.

Domagoso said the local government was able to set aside a few first dose vaccines but these will be deployed to the city’s bedridden citizens.

On June 10, the city deployed first dose vaccines to bedridden residents of Districts 4 and 5.

The mayor encouraged residents to register for vaccination at https://www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph/ while the city waits for new vaccine supplies from the national government. It also procured vaccine doses which are expected to be delivered in July this year.

As of June 9, the city has deployed 306,975 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
