Jordan Clarkson aids food truck business vandalized with racist slurs

Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson stepped up to aid a Filipino food truck business in Salt Lake City after it was vandalized with racist messages early this week.

In a social media post, the Fil-American NBA player said he teamed up with Identity graphics to help with the restoration of the food truck that was spray-painted with anti-Asian slurs.

“It hurt me deeply to see that Salt Lake’s @yumyumasian food truck was recently vandalized – I know the pain that hateful language and racism causes,” Clarkson wrote on Twitter.

“With help from @identitygraphix we’ll be able to restore the truck and hopefully lift Ben and his family’s spirit!! #StopAsianHate”

The food truck owner expressed his gratitude for Clarkson through a social media post.

“Thank you @jordanclarksons for not only wrapping our food truck, but also for having it detailed at Gorilla Car Wash & for your continued support & encouragement. It means THE WORLD to the community & to us,” the owner wrote.

Clarkson acknowledged the message and promised to stop by to sample the food, which offers Asian Fusion and rice bowl meals.

Clarkson, who played for Gilas Pilipinas at the 2018 Asian Games, said he would also continue to spread awareness against racism.
