1.1M COVID vaccines delivered to PH in 12-hour span

Over 1.1 million coronavirus disease vaccines have arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in a span of less than 12 hours.

At around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, one million doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived at NAIA Terminal 2 on board Cebu Pacific (CEB) flight 5J 671. The vaccines were fetched from Beijing, China.

The previous evening at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a DHL Air Hong Kong flight AHK457 flew in 111,150 doses of the United States (US)-manufactured Pfizer-BioNtech vaccines to the Philippines, also via NAIA Terminal 2.

The Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines were immediately transported via refrigated vans to the PharmaServ Express cold facility in Marikina City for storage upon their arrival.

At around 6 a.m. Thursday, the Pfizer vaccines were flown to Davao in Mindanao on board Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight 1811.

The Sinovac jabs on the other hand will be distributed to local government units (LGUs) once the DOH identifies the recipients.

The latest vaccine deliveries raised the country’s total vaccine supply to 10,440,200 doses.
