Zamora inks 2 EOs to boost San Juan City's vaccination

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora inked on Friday two new Executive Orders (EO) to expand the city's vaccination program and encourage more San Juaneños to get vaccinated.

Zamora said Executive Order No. 81 iencourages all employees of business establishments allowed to operate in San Juan to get vaccinated. This includes even those who are non-residents but are working in San Juan City, as stipulated in the IATF (Inter Agency Task Force)-set guidelines and priority group categorization.

Meanwhile, 2 Executive Order No. 82 encourages businesses in San Juan City allowed to operate under GCQ (General Community Quarantine) to provide incentives and/or discounts to vaccinated customers.

“Both EOs are part of our vaccination program here in San Juan City," Zamora said.

The mayor added that providing incentives and discounts to vaccinated individuals will motivate more citizens to get vaccinated and will also serve as a reward to get the jabs and be part of the efforts to protect the population.

“We are resorting to these mechanisms to protect the population and we are lucky that we have received overwhelming support from the private sector and business owners in San Juan. Most of them are more than willing to be part of these efforts." Zamora said.

"In return, we can assure them that all their workers who are included in the A4 group will be inoculated and this will soon make all the establishments in San Juan safe and free from COVID-19." he added.

The mayor said the program is a big help in boosting the economy of the city as more people will be confident in entering establishments which the local government will declare through stickers and signage as having employees who are fully vaccinated.

According to the San Juan local government, the city has already vaccinated a total of 27,216 from the A1, A2, and A3 categories or a total of 32 percent of the target population. It added that it has already exhausted the list of registrants in its registration system under the A1, A2, and A3 categories.
