Police file raps vs 209 violators of health protocols in Pasay

The Pasay City police filed charges against 209 individuals at the Prosecutor’s Office for violation of curfew hours and failure to pay the fines imposed on them.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, said operatives arrested a total of 1,971 individuals from January up to May. They were issued with ordinance violation receipts (OVR).

Paday-os said the arrest was done after Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the strict implementation of the basic health protocols like the wearing of face masks, face shields, observing the curfew hour, and most especially the EMI Habit, to fight the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city.

He said that of the arrested individuals issued with OVR, 1,504 were apprehended for curfew hour violation while 467 were for drinking in public place and various violations of health protocols.

The city police chief said 21 of the arrested persons had already settled the fines slapped against them at the Pasay City Treasurer's office while 12 others chose to render community service.

Paday-os said of the 209 individuals who were charged in court, 161 were residents of the city while 48 were non-residents.

He said a total of 1,938 persons have not settled their obligations and are still waiting whether they will pay the fines or render community service.
