Dizon: 85% of AstraZeneca doses set to expire in June already administered

National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon on Tuesday, June 1, said the AstraZeneca jabs set to expire on June 30 have already been administered as first doses.

In a Palace briefing, Dizon said that 85 percent of the 1.5 million AstraZeneca doses have been administered as of June 1.

"Kampante tayo na sa susunod na linggo matatapos na yung pagbabakuna ng AstraZeneca na mag-eexpire ngayong June 30 (We are confident that we will finish next week administering AstraZeneca jabs expiring on June 30)," he added.

"Again, pruweba lang yan na kaya nating magbakuna nang mabilis at maramihan (This is proof that we can vaccinate as many people as possible at a fast pace)."

The national government is targeting to administer four to five million coronavirus disease (COVID-19) shots in June.

"Dahil nga po magiging maganda ang supply natin this June sabi ni Sec. Galvez, ngayon weekend June 6, June 7, at June 11 meron pong mga parating na bakuna at tuloy-tuloy po yan ng June (Because our supply will slightly stabilize this June. According to Sec. Carlito Galvez, we're expecting to receive more COVID-19 doses this coming June 6, June 7, and June 11)," Dizon said.

Additional 3.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are expected to be delivered in June.

Based on the delivery schedule, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said one million doses of Sinovac vaccines procured by the government will arrive on June 3, followed by 1.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccines on June 7.

Another 900,000 Pfizer jabs will be delivered to the country on June 11. The country can also expect 200,000 doses of Moderna shots.

Galvez said around 2.2 million doses of Pfizer vaccines and another two million doses of AstraZeneca jabs are expected to be delivered to the country in June via the COVAX Facility.
