Robredo was outside De Lima's jail cell? No, VP says photo 'altered'

It seems Vice President Leni Robredo can’t catch a break from fake news.

On Saturday, May 8, Robredo asked her Facebook followers to report those who doctored the image of a house being built under the Angat Buhay project in Lupi, Camarines Sur.

According to Robredo, the fake post was made by VOVph, a pro-Duterte Facebook page.

“Fake News Alert!! Altered picture was posted on VOVph Facebook page. Please help us report,” she said on her personal Facebook page.

The vice president’s post was accompanied by the screenshot of the “altered” image showing Robredo posing in front of a house as Senator Leila De Lima waves from behind bars.

In the VOVph’s version, the same photo also showed the tarpaulin of Boysen Paint | The No. 1 Paint was changed to “Boyset | The No. 1 Pain.”

This image was fact-checked by Vera Files, which said it was “manipulated.”

On May 3, the vice president went to Lupi town to oversee the ongoing construction of the 120 houses in her third Angat Buhay Village.

The housing beneficiaries were Typhoon Ulysses victims who were taught to paint their own houses.

The Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) partners—the University of Caceres and Boysen Philippines—were responsible for the training of the displaced residents.
