An additional 13 coronavirus cases were reported among overseas Filipinos, raising the total tally to 18,537, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Saturday, May 8.
The DFA did not record any new deaths, which stands at 1,159.
As of the same day, active COVID-19 cases were at 6,029, while 16 new recoveries brought the total number of Filipinos abroad who recovered or discharged from hospital to 11,349.

Based on the same DFA data, the overseas Filipinos infected with COVID-19 were found in 94 countries worldwide.
The Middle East and Africa still had the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 10,463 cases. These were followed by the Asia Pacific Region with 3,704 cases.
In Europe, DFA has recorded a total of 3,388 cases among Filipinos there, while 982 Filipinos in the Americas have been infected with the viral disease.
In the Philippines, the latest report from the Department of Health (DOH) said the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 1,094,849 on Saturday with 6,979 new cases and 170 new deaths.
