PRRD reserves new gov't post for retired Sinas-Año

President Duterte will give a new position to General Debold Sinas as he is set to bow out of service on Saturday, May 8.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año disclosed the good news for Sinas during his speech as a guest of honor and speaker during the change of command at Camp Crame in Quezon City where Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar assumed the leadership of the 228,000-strong PNP.

Año said that it was President Duterte himself who told him that Sinas will be given a new position under his administration.

“Ang narinig ko nung isang gabi kay Pangulong Duterte, ikaw daw ay bibigyan ng panibagong trabaho. (What I heard from President Duterte last night, you will be given a new job,” said Año.

Año, however, did not disclose what position was already reserved to Sinas.

In his speech on Friday, May 7, Sinas expressed gratitude to all those who helped him in his goal of improving the image of the PNP and ensuring effective law enforcement in the country.

“Six months was all I have but I knew then that it was more than enough time for all that I swore to accomplish,” said Sinas.

“Today is my last day as the Chief PNP, and I am very happy to leave the PNP knowing that I was able to accomplish the objective and goals in the last six months,” he added.
