Pasig's COVID numbers on downward trend but 'still alarming' -- Mayor Vico

Pasig City’s COVID numbers are on a downward trend but remain “alarming,” Mayor Vico Sotto said on Wednesday.

In his COVID summary report on May 5, Sotto said Pasig has 932 active cases which means one in every 1,000 individuals in Pasig gets infected with the virus.

“Clear downtrend but numbers still alarming,” Sotto said.

The mayor said the city’s COVID Referral Center is still “almost full” while its temporary holding area “still has some space.”

Sotto, meanwhile, encouraged Pasig residents to help in slowing down the spread of COVID-19.

“Lahat tayo, may mga mahal sa buhay na naging biktima ng COVID. Kaya patuloy tayong magtulungan. Gawin natin ang lahat ng makakaya natin para mapabagal ang pagkalat ng virus (All of us have loved ones who have been victims of COVID. So let’s continue to help one another...Let's do everything we can to slow down the spread of the virus),” he said.
