Pasay City to simulate inoculation of 500 seniors at SM MOA Giga vaccination center

The Pasay City government will conduct a simulation exercise at its biggest vaccination site at SM MOA by inoculating around 500 senior citizens on Friday, May 7.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the 500 senior citizens who will be administered the Sinovac vaccine will come from various barangays in the city.

Rubiano said the city’s Giga vaccination center can accommodate about 2,000 patients per day or around 50,000 per month.

She said the city government partnered with SM to build one of the biggest vaccination centers in the country on April 25.

SM Supermalls president Steven Tan said they partnered with the city government for the project to help authorities double their efforts in vaccinating city residents.

Rubiano thanked SM Supermalls for making the project possible.

“We hope that our partnership with SM will encourage more people to sign up and get the vaccines so that we can slowly return to our normal lives. We all want to live safely and connect with our families and friends in person,“ Rubiano said.

The city government is targeting to open the Giga vaccination this month.

The “Vacc to the Future” Task Force had already conducted several meetings and training in coming up with a micro plan and manpower tasking.
