Two Bukidnon priests succumb to COVID-19

Two Bukidnon priests have succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The Diocese of Malaybalay on Tuesday, May 4, announced the demise of Father Pablo Merlina Salengua, parish priest of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Dalirig, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

"Another very sad event. May 4, 2021, at 12:15 p.m., the attending doctor at Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City declared Fr. Salengua, 67, dead days after struggling with COVID-19 complications," the diocese said in a Facebook post.

"The Diocese of Malaybalay and the bereaved family mourn for the death of yet another beloved Paring Bukidnon," the post further read.

On May 1, the diocese also announced the death of Fr. Diomedes A. Brigoli due to COVID-19 complications.

The diocese urged everyone to pray for the repose of their souls.
