Know more about Ramadan with NCCA's webinar series

In time with the holy month of Ramadan, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is set to hold a webinar series featuring various Islamic traditions and cuisines.

The activity, to be done in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Manila, aims to advance the Philippines’ bilateral cultural cooperation with these countries through deeper awareness and understanding of principles, traditions, and cultures.

Ramadan is the yearly month-long Islamic commemoration of the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Mohammad, the founder of Islam. During this period, Muslims practice fasting where they refrain from eating or drinking during the day.

The three-part webinar set on May 6, 20, and 27 will feature discussions on the traditions of Ramadan and cooking demonstrations of Halal food. The series can be accessed through the following links:

Interested participants will be required to pre-register through the links to join the video conference. They will then be asked to answer a survey at the end of the activity so they may receive their certificates of participation.
