Pasig City inaugurates P6.6-M solar power system

The local government unit (LGU) of Pasig City inaugurated the 100 kilowatt on-grid solar power system at the Pasig Sports Center at the City Hall on Monday (May 31).

Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government spent P6.6 million for the solar power system.

“Sa halagang P6.6M, ang proyektong ito ay mas mura sa mga naunang solar project ng LGU (For P6.6 million, this project is cheaper than the first solar project of the LGU),” he said in a Facebook post.

“Ang (The ) return on investment o ROI ay nasa (is about) 6-10 years (conservative estimate).”

Aside from the financial benefit of the solar power system, Sotto emphasized the benefit of the solar power system to the environment.

“Ito ay maganda para sa kalikasan (This is good for the environment).”

Many netizens thanked the mayor for the city’s environment-friendly project.
