Metro Manila mayors have agreed to retain the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew in the National Capital Region (NCR) for another two weeks.

In an interview with DZMM on Monday, Metro Manila Council (MMC) Chairman and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the government cannot relax the restrictions yet.
“Alam naman natin na bumababa ang ating cases, pati yung...utilization ng ating health care sa hospital...pero di pa kailangan tayo magrelax para talagang totally ma-contain itong COVID na ito (We all know that our cases are already dropping, our...health care utilization is also decreasing...but we can't relax yet to really totally contain COVID),” Olivarez said when asked why MMC mayors did not heed the calls of adjusting the curfew to 12 a.m. instead of 10 p.m.
Last week, Olivarez already disclosed that the MMC has recommended the two-week extension of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in the NCR.
Also part of the MMC’s recommendation was to allow the operation of meeting and conference centers, exhibits, and outdoor amusement parks at a limited capacity.
Malacanang will announce the new quarantine classification for the country on Monday, May 31.
