Billie Eilish covers British Vogue in a way we've never seen her before

And it is more than just her butterscotch hair

Billie Eilish knows how to make a bold statement in the digital world. With her groundbreaking musical work on her album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go," she broke stereotypes imposed on women in pop music. This time, the 19-year-old pop star hits the issue on the head again as she graces the cover of fashion magazine British Vogue, in a way that is far from her "creepy, weird girl" persona.

Billie is not only shedding her black green hair but also her baggy clothing. She channels the ultimate blond ambition pop star look for a fashion editorial that speaks about "women's bodies, about consent, and above all about confidence."

"It's about taking that power back, showing it off, and not taking advantage with it," she says. "I'm not letting myself be owned anymore."

"Billie collaborated closely with the Vogue team on her fashion fantasy, led by style director Dena Giannini," British Vogue tells. "The result? Billie Eilish as we've never seen her before—but as always with Billie, it is the story behind the transformation that is the key."

Dressed in classic, curve-hugging, provocative pieces from fashion houses such as Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Mugler, among others, Billie is the epitome of a dignified songstress in chic seductive aesthetic.

In the past years, Billie has expressed her reluctance on being an icon for body positivity. In 2019, she explained in a Calvin Klein ad campaign that she wore loose clothes to prevent people from judging her body, which has deeper roots as she experienced body-shaming growing up as depicted on the short film "Not My Responsibility."

But it looks like things are changing as she reclaims her power and her body's narrative through fashion. "Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you," Billie muses. "It's all about what makes you feel good."
