Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government is waiting for the guidelines from the national government for the inoculation of individuals under the A4 and A5 categories.
Rubiano also admitted that the city government is already short of the supply of vaccines, and to continue with their vaccination program they have to divide the vaccines for those who were scheduled to get their second dose.
She said the city government has suffered a shortage of vaccines for almost one week starting May 22.
The mayor said another batch of vaccines arrived in the city on Friday (May 28) with only 6,000 doses. They have to reserve P3,000 of the supply for the second dose and the other half for the city’s vaccination centers.
The 3,000 vaccines to be equally distributed to the city’s vaccination sites can be consumed in two days, Rubiano.
The city government has already finished inoculating senior citizens and adults with comorbidities with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Rubiano said the city government received a total 1,070 Pfizer vaccines on May 13, which were placed at ORCA storage facility in Taguig.
She said the inoculation for the first dose of Pfzer vaccines were done at the city’s Giga Vaccination Center in SM the Galleon and the Cuneta Astrodome.
The mayor said the second dose of Pfizer vaccine will be given on June 5 and 8 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Rubiano said those who received the Pfizer vaccines were pre-registered at the city’s “Vacc to the Future” vaccination program.
