Pasay LGU, private firms join hands to speed up vaccination program
The Pasay City government is working in partnership with several big private companies to fast track the vaccination program of the national government as well as raise the trust level of the majority of the population on the importance of being inoculated against COVID-19.
In an interview with CNN Philippines anchor Pinky Webb, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said they have been coordinating with the private firms that plan to implement their own vaccination programs for their employees.
“Kausap na po namin ang mga private companies para makatulong ang ating lokal na pamahalaan na mapabilis ang kanilang vaccination program sa kanilang mga empleyado,” (We already had a talk with some private companies to help them in the vaccination program of their employees),” Rubiano said.
The mayor explained that under the Department of Health guidelines, private companies that wish to inoculate their employees must comply with all the requirements and submit them to the local health office for verification and actual inspection.
Some of the items needed to be checked by the city health office are location and actual space of the planned vaccination site as well as equipment needed during the inoculation.
“Matapos pong matiyak naming naka-comply naman sila sa mga requirements ay binibilisan naming ang pagproseso ng mga dokumento para kung available na ang bakuna nila ay maumpisahan na nila ang vaccination program” (Once they have complied with the requirements, we immediately process the documents so that once the vaccines are available they can at once start their vaccination program), Rubiano said.
The mayor said the city government is also giving private companies assistance and technical support.
An insider at the Pasay City Hall bared that among the big companies in the city that have already applied for their vaccination program are the Resorts World Manila, LBC, Capital Reliance, One World Medical, and Med Grocer.
The Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific have also manifested their intention to implement their respective vaccination programs for their employees.
