Free virtual junior NBA basketball clinic with Utah Jazz's Jordan Clarkson and 2021 NBA draft prospect Jalen Green

The National Basketball Association NBA Playoffs have gotten fans excited every morning, with fathers watching the games while their sons join him in cheering for their favorite players and teams. Well, the NBA just brought the excitement closer to home through Jr. NBA. This global youth basketball program is coming back to the Philippines through a series of free virtual basketball clinics for teenage boys and girls ages 13 to 17 years old.

Guest coaches include Utah Jazz's Jordan Clarkson and 2021 NBA Draft prospect Jalen Green will join the program, including a life session and discussion on the importance of fundamental skills training on May 29. WNBA Legend Ticha Penicheiro will be the highlight on June 12, an NBA session designed for girls.

“We’re excited to bring together players from across the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League to inspire our
young athletes participating in the first ever Jr. NBA Philippines Clinics Online,” says NBA Philippines managing director Scott Levy.  “Shifting the Jr. NBA program to a virtual event will allow us to safely engage young boys and girls through basketball while continuing to promote the importance of an active and healthy
lifestyle.”

If your children can't make it to virtual classes on those dates, you can still view a series of videos starting June 21 on the official Jr. NBA Philippines Facebook page. Catch Clarkson, Penicheiro, former NBA coaches, local Jr. NBA coaches, and sports science resource speakers as they share their insights within the range of sports-related topics such as nutrition, psychology, diversity, and more.

Another chance to get discovered is through a social media contest by NBA Philippines—identifying 10 boys and 10 girls who will get to join the Jr. NBA Asia Pacific Camp online. It's a one-day virtual basketball event with advanced basketball training, challenges, and interactive sessions with NBA and WNBA players. A dream come true for those who dream of joining the professional basketball leagues. Watch out for the contest mechanics that will be announced soon.
