Newly-built access road to boost coconut industry in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan
Local coconut growers are expected to gain more business opportunities with the completion of a new access road in the municipality of Sanchez Mira in Cagayan, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said he is optimistic that the P2-million road project will help boost the growing coconut industry in Sanchez Mira.
The 123-lineal meter access road along Manila North Road will enhance connectivity in the town of Sanchez Mira by serving as a link between the barangays of Callugan and Masisit.
"DPWH hopes that the provision of the road will bring economic development in the area through employment and business opportunities for the locals," Villar said.
The secretary noted that the road will not only benefit Sanchez Mira’s budding coconut industry but will also promote other agricultural products in the area. He said all local farm produce can now easily reach market centers in neighboring cities and towns.
"The project’s completion is a much-needed assistance to the locals, some of whom have lost their jobs because of the pandemic and are just trying to find means to support their families," he said.
The road project was funded through the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
