More than 71,000 vaccines administered in Mandaluyong

The Mandaluyong City local government announced on Tuesday, May 25, that it has already deployed 71,764 vaccines to its residents to protect them against COVID-19.

Based on the report of the City Health Office (CHO), the city is now done inoculating all its medical frontliners under the A1 category (4,170 vaccinated); 16,387 senior citizens under the A2 category received their first dose and 3,086 already had their second dose; 34,372 persons with commorbidities under the A3 category received their first dose and 9,477 their second dose; and 102 people under the A4 category have received their first dose of the vaccine.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos urged her constituents to register for free for the city's vaccination program, MANDAVAX, and assured them that the vaccines being given by the local government are free.

Abalos made the call on Friday after receiving reports that there are people asking for payment from residents before they can be added to the list of vaccinees in the city.

The mayor had earlier sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to look into the alleged “vaccine for a fee” scheme in the city.
