Another Pisay student gets admission offers from leading universities in Europe, US

Another student from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) has received admission offers from leading universities abroad, this time in Europe and the United States.

The PSHS congratulated Dominic R. Navarro for getting offers of admission from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany; and Bentley University and University of Wisconsin (UW)-Madison, both in the US.

Estrella is a member of Class 2021 of the PSHS-Ilocos Region Campus.

“Congratulations, Dominic R. Navarro, member of Class 2021 of the Philippine Science High School - Ilocos Region Campus, for receiving admission offers from Jacobs University, Bentley University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison!,” the PSHS said in a Facebook post.

"The Philippine Science High School System is proud of you.”

The PSHS said Navarro was offered admission in Bremen-based Jacobs University, a private English-speaking university, with scholarship grant for Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics.

Founded in 2001, Jacobs University serves more than 1,450 students from over 110 countries living in its 34-hectare residential campus.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 placed Jacobs University in the 251-300th spot.

The PSHS also cited that Bentley University, one of the top business schools in the US, offered admission to Navarro with Provost Scholarship for Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science.

Navarro also got direct admission “to the very competitive BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) Actuarial Science program of the Wisconsin School of Business”, it said.

Founded in 1848, the University of Wisconsin is a public land-grant university and prolific research institution.

UW undertakes nearly US$1.3 billion in research annually. It has bagged 41 Pulitzer prizes.

The PSHS also announced that Maria Charisma P. Estrella, member of the pioneer batch of students of the PSHS-Calabarzon Region Campus (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) received admission offers from the New York University and Yale University-National University of Singapore (NUS) College.
