P51-B PNR Clark Phase2 reaches 30% progress rate

The P51 billion Philippine National Railways (PNR) Clark Phase 2 project has now reached 28.79 percent overall progress rate, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced.

The 54-kilometer rail line stretches across Malolos, Bulacan to Clark, Pampanga and is expected to reduce travel time between Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga and Makati City from more than two hours by car, to just one hour via the Airport Express.
To date, the first Bored Pile Cast, situated at the MCRP Apalit Station construction site at Sitio Sampaga, Brgy. San Vicente, Apalit is almost complete.
This bored pile is a cast-in-place concrete pile commonly used for bridge work, tall buildings, and massive industrial complexes, all of which require deep foundations.
At the beginning of this month, builders finished the concrete pouring and crosshole sonic logging test in Pile 296, inside the proposed Apalit Station.
Pile Testing follows to determine its geotechnical capacity.
A total of 11 test pile will be set up for the second phase of the project.
The necessary test pile activities for the location is slated to be completed this August.
Apart from providing convenience to commuters, PNR Clark Phase 2 is generating 7,000 direct jobs during its construction phase, plus 3,000 more, once the project starts operating.
The PNR Clark Phase 2 is co-financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
This rail line is an integral part of the North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR), the single largest infrastructure project of the ADB.
