Total of Covid-infected overseas Filipinos since start of pandemic reaches 18,697

The total number of overseas Filipinos who were afflicted with COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) since the outbreak began in February last year is now 18,697, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a report Monday.
This came after the DFA confirmed that 38 new COVID-19 cases and 31 new recoveries were recorded among Filipinos abroad with no new fatality.

To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among overseas Filipinos remains at 94.
Of the total COVID-19 cases among the nationals abroad, 11,430 have recovered, 6,099 are undergoing treatment and 1,168 died due to coronavirus infections.
For more than a year since the start of the pandemic, the Middle East and Africa continues to remain as the region with the biggest numbers in all categories, namely the total number of confirmed cases (10,473); recoveries (5,913); under treatment (3,796), and deaths (764).
