The San Juan City local government paid tribute on Monday to its newest centenarian -- Cleto Nueva who celebrated his 100th birthday on April 26.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora personally visited Tatay Cleto's home in Barangay Onse and handed him a check for P50,000 from the local government.
"Bilang centenarian o 100 years old, kwalipikado si Tatay para sa benepisyong ito (As a centenarian or someone aged 100 years old, Tatay Cleto is qualified to receive this cash incentive)," Zamora said in his Facebook post.
The mayor said his wish is for Tatay Cleto to remain healthy and to live longer.
City Ordinance Number 43 Series of 2017 mandates the local government to provide a P50,000 cash incentive to its constituents aged 100 years old and above.
