Heads up, filmmakers! NCCA now accepting entries for 'Cinema Quarantine II'

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is urging all Filipino filmmakers to participate in its filmmaking competition, which focuses on video content projects in the time of the pandemic.

"NCCA Eksena: Cinema Quarantine II" is a project of the commission's National Committee on Cinema (NCC). The theme of the competition is, "What we did right, what we did wrong?"

The NCCA said interested participants have until June 25, 2021 to submit all the requirements for the contest.

Applicants may only submit one entry. They also must not have pending or uncompleted projects with the NCCA.

"Possible outputs include but not limited to advocacy and instructional videos, online filmmaking modules, video diaries, animation, and other video-related online content," the NCCA said.

"Running time inclusive of the opening and closing credits must be minimum of five minutes and maximum of ten minutes," it added.

According to the commission, a gross amount of P75,000 will be given to the successful grantee or content winner to assist in the production of his or her online video project.

Completed projects must also be submitted in two forms -- a digital file submitted through email and addressed to Dr. Roland B. Tolentino, Commissioner of the Subcommission on the Arts and head of the NCC at [email protected], and a digital copy uploaded on an online video sharing site.
