BTS pop-up stores to open in Manila, Taipei, Singapore

K-pop superstars BTS pop-up stores will be launched in three Asian cities, HYBE IP announced on May 24.
HYBE IP, a subsidiary of HYBE Co. (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), said the three stores will be opened following the launch of the offline pop-up store BTS Pop-UP: Map of the Soul in Bangkok, Thailand last May 1.
The BTS pop-up store in Manila will be opened on May 29 and will run until Aug. 29. The Taipei pop-up store will open on Sept. 12 until Oct. 17. Meanwhile, the BTS POP-UP: SPACE OF BTS will be launched in Singapore on May 28 and will run until Aug. 15.
The pop-up stores will be decorated based on the concept of BTS’ fourth studio album “Map of the Soul: 7.” and incorporate the album’s key color, blue, together with artworks inspired by songs from the album.
They will also have various lifestyle products utilizing artist and music IP such as BTS’ song-themed products, TinyTAN characters, practical household goods and basic fashion items.
“Amidst the pandemic situation, BTS’ pop-up stores are comforting fans around the world with the band’s music by offering a direct and in-person experience. Along with additional openings in Asia, we will continue to provide more fans with valuable opportunities to meet artists’ music through various products and space experiences,” said HYBE IP.
According to HYBE IP, the additional stores have been added in response to fans’ reactions to BTS Pop-up: Map of the Soul stores opened in Korea, US, Japan, Asia and Europe from last year until February 2021.
The pop-up stores also gained huge popularity for taking the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation into consideration and flexibly operating both online and offline.
The showcase in Seoul, held from October 2020 to January 2021, recorded a total of 70,000 visitors in a span of four months while the Singapore showcase recorded approximately 30,000 visitors in four months, and extended its operations for two months due to popular demand.
In Singapore, the BTS Pop-Up: Space of BTS, a retail pop-up store focusing on practical household goods and basic fashion items, will open on May 28 in partnership with Lotte Department Store. The store ran in South Korea in Seoul, Busan, Daegu and Gwangju until Feb. 28 this year.
In Japan, BTS Pop-up: Space of BTS stores were launched in 13 cities such as Shibuya, Nagoya, Osaka, and Sapporo in partnership with Universal Japan, which drew about 240,000 visitors in three months.
