Members of the Bulacan police arrested 54 law violators, 51 of them illegal cockfighting aficionados in their anti-crime drive on Sunday, May 23.
In a report to Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan police director, two wanted persons were arrested in separate manhunt operations by a joint team of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 4A and Norzagaray Police, and a joint team of Maritime Group (IID, Maritime Group), and Santa Maria Police.
The arrested wanted persons were identified as Erol Moya, for the crime of murder, in Brgy. Matictic, Norzagaray, Bulacan, and Jobert Posenia, the No. 4 most wanted person of Tacloban City, who was arrested for rape in Brgy. Catmon, Sta Maria, Bulacan.
Meanwhile, 51 suspects engaged in illegal cockfighting were arrested by the joint team of Bulacan Crime Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the towns of Pulilan, San Rafael, and Marilao, and in the cities of Meycauayan, and San Jose Del Monte. A total of 11 live fighting cocks, seven dead fighting cocks, 10 gaffs, and a total of P13, 875 bet money were confiscated.
The Bustos police also arrested a suspect in the alleged rape of an 8-year-old girl in Brgy. Catacte, Bustos, Bulacan. The suspect was identified as Moreno Calixto.
