Song Joong Ki and Suzy Bae in a revenge drama? Yes, please!

After the successful conclusion of “Vincenzo”, Korean heartthrob Song Joong Ki is reportedly in talks to star with Suzy Bae in an upcoming drama entitled “The Youngest Son of Chaebol Family.”

The hint came from JTBC after the network posted its list of upcoming dramas for 2021, naming Song Joong Ki as the lead star. It can be recalled that Suzy was previously rumored to be in talks for the revenge drama as well.

“The Youngest Son of Chaebol Family” is the live action adaptation of a webtoon “Youngest Son of a Congomerate.” Director JeongDae Yun of “I am Not a Robot” and “W:Two Worlds” has reportedly been tapped to helm the new drama while “Sungkyungkwan Scandal” writer Kim Tae Heehas reportedly been confirmed to develop the script.

The drama centers around a man who was wrongfully accused and eliminated by a chaebol clan after he showed loyalty to the family. In an unexpected twist, he was reborn as the youngest son of the same family. It later becomes his mission to take them down for what they have done in his past life.

If Song Joong Ki accepts the project, it will be right up his alley since he previously starred in a revenge drama “The Innocent Man” aka “Nice Guy”. His latest starrer also centered around a mafia family. Meanwhile, Suzy is no stranger to doing action dramas after she completed “Vagabond” in 2020 with Lee Seung Gi in 2019.

For the meantime, Song Joong Ki will be busy with filming his movie “Bogota” which will resume filming in June. The film postponed its filming in Colombia last year after a spike of COVID-19 cases in the country. The cast is reportedly set to return to Colombia to complete the filming in July.
