Davao region records 172 new COVID-19 cases

DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development recorded on Thursday (May 20) 172 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The DOH data shows that 104 of these cases were recorded in Davao City, 28 in Davao del Norte, 26 in Davao de Oro, seven in Davao Oriental, four in Davao del Sur, and three in Davao Occidental.

One death was also recorded in Davao City bringing the total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 in the region to 1,044. Davao City has recorded a total of 721 fatalities.

Meanwhile, 27 new recoveries were also recorded. The DOH said 24 of these were from Davao City and three from Davao de Oro.

Davao region has recorded a total of 25,460 cases with 1,664 active cases. Davao City has the most number of active cases with 791.
