The Taguig City government deployed its first vaccination bus Friday to make the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine more accessible to people.

According to the city government, the vaccination bus is stationed at Pusawan covered court in Brgy. Ususan and will stay there for two to three days.
On the first day of operation of the vaccination bus, the AstraZeneca vaccine brand was used to inoculate people who belong to the A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (persons with comorbidities).
The bus can accommodate 200 vaccinees per day and will be used to augment the streamlined vaccination process being done at the city government’s mega vaccination hubs and community vaccination centers.
Counseling and vaccination are held inside the bus while registration, screening and post-vaccination monitoring are done outside.
Vaccination appointments may be done through the Taguig Registry Access and Citizen Engagement (TRACE) or through the TRACE kiosks in every barangay.
Besides the bus, Taguig has nine vaccination hubs in different areas around the city. For those who prefer to get their vaccines at these sites, there will be a “hop-on, hop-off” or point-to-point bus service that will pick up people with schedules beginning next week.
Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano earlier said that the city government will no longer announce in advance the vaccine brand to be used for the first dose in line with the order of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). People will know the brand at the vaccination site.
“We will abide by the DILG order but for those who will be going for their second dose they need to know what center has their vaccine,” said Cayetano.
The mayor added, “Currently, we have citizens going for their second dose of AstraZeneca and Sinovac then next week for Gamaleya. So, for second dose purposes, we need to announce but we support the President's call to citizens na huwag mamili ng vaccine brands. All brands protect us 100 percent from severe cases and death.”
