Mayor Isko has enough antibodies vs severe COVID-19 after 2nd dose of Sinovac vaccine

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has undergone a "neutralizing antibody test" two weeks after he received his second dose of Sinovac vaccine.

According to Domagoso's result, 62.7% of antibodies have been developed in his body, which is enough protection against severe COVID-19.
The local chief executive wanted to assure the public that regardless of the brand of COVID-19 vaccine as long as it can give protection against COVID-19 it would be effective.
"The vaccines are here to protect us from developing severe COVID-19 regardless kung anong brand basta merong sapat na (of what brand as long as it has enough) neutralizing antibodies, the vaccine can protect you from developing severe COVID-19," he said.
Domagoso submitted his blood sample to Hi-Precision Diagnostics two weeks after he received his 2nd dose of Sinovac vaccine on May 2.
The test can determine how much antibodies have developed after a person received his/her 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
If the test result is below 30%, the person has no antibody; if above 30%, the person has enough protection against severe COVID-19; and if it's above 68%, the person has enough neutralizing antibody against the dreaded disease and can be a candidate as a plasma donor.
Domagoso said the neutralizing antibody test is not required, but those who want to have a “peace of mind” can take it.
Sinovac vaccine was the first available vaccine against COVID-19 in the country.
