Jojo Bragais served with uncooked rice at Florida resto

Popular Filipino shoe designer Jojo Bragais got one of the biggest surprises of his life when he was served uncooked rice at a restaurant in Florida on Saturday.

Bragais, who is on vacation in the US, said that he ordered salmon with rice. When his order arrived, the rice was uncooked, he said.

Salmon with 'uncooked rice'

The Bicolano heels maker called the attention of the waitress who later told him that she cooked the best rice for him.

The waitress asked Bragais to double-check if the rice was uncooked or overcooked, according to his Facebook post on May 22.

Bragais said he was sure the rice was uncooked.

When the waitress asked him how sure he was, Bragais said: "I'm Asian!"

White rice is a staple food in the Asian diet.

Free chicken wings meal

The waitress went to the kitchen. When she came back, she gave Bragais a friend chicken wings meal - for free!

Bragais, 28, is still in Florida after the 69th Miss Universe Competition where he became the official footwear partner of the prestigious pageant.
