The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 6,831 additional coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Saturday, May 22, pushing the active infections nationwide to 54,326.

The number of active cases account for 4.6 percent of the country's overall tally of confirmed cases which stood at 1,178,217.
Of the active cases, 93.6 percent were mild, 1.9 percent were asymptomatic, 1.4 percent were critical, 1.9 percent were severe, while 1.26 percent were in moderate condition.
The DOH said183 more individuals died. This pushed the country's COVID-19 death toll to 19,946.
It, however, reported 7,981 new recoveries, bringing the total number of survivors to 1,103,945.
