The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized Saturday, May 22, local colleges in Central Visayas after meeting the standards set by the commission and for their achievements.

CHED Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III led the awarding of trophies and certificates of eligibility to local colleges in Region VII in a ceremony held at Cebu Normal University in Cebu City.
The following are the recipients of the awards and recognition:

Those recipients of certificate of eligibility will receive funds from CHED as provided by Republic Act 10931 or the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.”
“The concept of free education higher education is not a new idea. It had to take political will to say we will do it,” De Vera said during the program.
“Why we are doing it, simply because investing in our own people is the best investment that government can make. It is simply believing and investing in our young people,” he added.
