Weekend road closure: 4 sections of EDSA, C-5 up for repairs

Four sections of major highways in Metro Manila will undergo rehabilitation over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Friday, May 21.

Road reblocking and repair will be conducted on certain portions of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and C-5 Road starting at 11 p.m. Friday.

The road sections to be repaired on EDSA include the northbound direction near corner Kaingin Road in Quezon City, covering 60.75 square meters; and its southbound side up to A. Bonifacio Avenue, first lane from sidewalk, which is 200 square meters.

Meanwhile, sections for repair on C-5 include the southbound portions of the road from after Rajah Matanda to after M.G. Dizon (Cliff Drive) Street, second lane from sidewalk; and before Magsaysay Avenue, second lane from sidewalk. Around 630 square meters of the road will be closed for the activity.

DPWH-National Capital Region Director Eric A. Ayapana advised motorists to avoid the affected areas and take alternative roads within the duration of the repairs.

The four road sections will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021.
