Parañaque City has started implementing the “brand agnostic” policy in its COVID-19 vaccination sites.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the brand of vaccines being given in specific vaccination sites in Parañaque is no longer disclosed to the public as per the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Olivarez said the policy will help prevent crowding in vaccination sites which he said can be a “superspreader.”
The mayor said individuals can back out from vaccination if they do not like the vaccine brand being offered at the site, but that will mean going back to the end of the COVID inoculation list.
Currently, Parañaque only has Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines to inoculate its residents.
The mayor said the city complete administering the remaining vaccines by the end of the month.
Olivarez, who is also chairman of the Metro Manila Council, said the Metro mayors will discuss the brand-agnostic policy and the giving of incentives to persons who are already vaccinated to come up with a consensus.
