iQiyi launches new campaign creating more opportunities in the Philippines

A new home for your favorite local and international dramas

IQiyi

iQiyi (pronounced ay-chee-yì) recently announced that they would be launching a set of new titles from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines for its “Love On Campaign” starting May 20 2021. That means Filipinos now have the opportunity to watch more of their favorite content from the said countries, from the comforts of their home through iQiyi’s OTT Platform.

Included in the lineup of upcoming content will be “Moonlight” starring Esther Wu and Ding Yuxi, “Make A Wish” starring Ren Youlun and Ge Xinyi, “Sweet Teeth” starring Betty Wu and Bi Wen Jun, “Forever and Ever” starring Ren Jialun and Bai Lu, and many other dramas from China.

From their South Korean content, do expect to see an iQiyi-exclusive “My Roommate is a Gumiho” premiering on May 26, 2021 starring Jang Ki-young and Lee Hye-ri, “At A Distance, Spring is Green” starring Park Ji-hoon, Kang Min-ah, and Lee Sin-young, and lastly, “Monthly House Magazine” starring Kim Ji-sook and Jung So-min, premiering this June 16.

iQiyi will also be streaming episodes of the freshest dramas from local network GMA 7. Check out Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion on “My First Yaya” starting this month, and get ready to wipe your tears away later this year with Glaiza de Castro and Rayver Cruz’s “Nagbabagang Luha.”

But wait. There’s more!

iQiyi has been building relationships left and right from its main headquarters in China, all the way to its viewers from North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Oceana. This has been reflected here in the Philippines through a partnership with a local telecommunication company, and the recently concluded 69th Miss Universe Competition being streamed exclusively on iQiyi.

Other than relationships with viewers, they have also signed deals in Southeast Asia, China, and South Korea for co-producing deals for future iQiyi-Exclusive content. Last February, the said OTT Platform had signed an agreement with G.H.Y., Southeast Asia’s most prominent talent agency. They’re set to create competitive content and to work with the creative talent pool in the region. With iQiyi having its own office in BGC coming in soon, it’s no longer a question of whether they’d produce local content in collaboration with our superstars, but when.

Thanks to this Chinese OTT Platform, Filipinos have a new way to get the hottest titles from the region. There are more opportunities for the Philippine and Southeast Asian Entertainment industry to be competitive globally.
